Ronald Jernigan is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, with a B.F.A. in Fashion Design and a minor in Chemistry.  With a primary interest in denim, his designs are guided by an androgynous and punk spirit.  As a first-generation American, he champions the determination and self-applied ethos of immigrants, and it strongly informs his artistic point-of-view.  Descending from Filipino, African American, Native American, and German heritage, he is committed to intersectional activism and the decolonization of the body and soul.  He experienced a paradigm shift in his aesthetic and cultural scope during a study abroad program in Doha, Qatar, inspired by the architecture of Islamic art and the abstract design of calligraphic script.
